Early Umbrella: Music Download Card

For fans of Early Umbrella—the moniker for Twin Cities-based singer/songwriter Josh Misner, who has played with regional symphonies as easily as with the likes of indie rocker Jeremy Messersmith—his self-titled debut album was highly anticipated. After spending years in the studio rewriting, re-recording, and refining a highly personal project, Josh wanted a design that echoed the organic nature of his songs that evoked more of a mood than a specific idea. A series of paintings on cedar were created in-house, with an especially tactile one chosen for the final. Originally intended for a more traditional digipack, the design was adapted for a plastic digital download card.
